Poked and Prodded
Went to the doctor’s yesterday afternoon. Yes, yet another appoinment. This time for me. I’m on my last pack of BC pills, so had to go in for my annual pap and to get another perscription for more pills.
So anyway, got checked out by the nurse and the doctor. The doctor said everything seems fine until she started pushing on my uterus. She kept asking me if it hurt in certain spots where she was putting pressure. No, it didn’t hurt, was what I kept telling her. She asked if there was a history of cervical cancer or fibroids in the family. Well, to my knowledge, there isn’t. She said my uterus is tilted back…which I was told with my previous pregnancy…that’s nothing new. But she told me she felt a “mass of something”. Could very well just be an ovary that floated forward. And it doesn’t feel like it’s on my uterus itself. But, she wants to have it checked out to be on the safe side. So I get to have an ultrasound done. Fun, fun. I’ve had 3 pregnancies (the 2nd ended in a miscarriage), so I’ve done the whole ultrasound thing. But I get to have 2 done…the pelvic (which is the one they do on the outside on your stomach) and a trans-vaginal (you can only guess where that one is).
It still has to be scheduled…I keep calling to schedule, and keep getting an answering machine…and no one has called me back yet. Aren’t hospitals great?
