A Party and Un-Expected Trip

Wow…so much to post! It’s been a few days, I know….but I’ve just been so busy!

Let’s see….Friday we (hubby, ‘K’, and I) ran around, trying to find this Spider-Man toy that I wanted to get for ‘K’ for his birthday party that was on Saturday. Yes, his birthday was about 2 weeks ago on the 18th…but we couldn’t have his party til this past weekend. Well, we didn’t find the toy I was looking for (had seen at Wal-Mart in Reno when ‘K’ and I went went to visit Crystal after Easter). So we went home and I called Crystal to see if she could find it and pick it up on her way down. She said sure…and then called back the next morning saying she couldn’t find it. So I sent ‘J’ back to the store to get the one we saw that we said we’d get if Crystal couldn’t get the other one. Oh, and I had stayed up til 4am that morning baking and frosting the 2 cakes for the party…so I was rather tired.

Now it’s Saturday…party time! The party was at 2pm at a little park. We got there barely before 2. ‘J’s mom and stepdad showed up almost right after we got there. ‘G’ and ‘K were playing on the jungle-gym thing. Crystal, her husband and their little boy (the other ‘K’…same age is my ‘K’) showed up next, then my parents and youngest brother and sister. Next came one of my other brother’s, then another. We were waiting on one more (the last of my 4 brothers) and let the kids play. 2:30 rolled around…still no sign of him. Ok, let’s open some presents and hope he gets there soon. ‘K’ got tons of stuff….mostly toys, of course. My other brother finally showed up in the middle of the present unwrapping. All done…let’s eat some cake! The wind was blowing and we couldn’t get the candles lit…so we sang happy birthday without them. ‘K’ didn’t care…he was ready for some cake! Got everyone served…and ‘K’ decided he’d rather play than eat. So off he went.
Had fun visiting with my family. Turned out to be a good day. Oh, and my new glasses came in that morning. So I got to pick them up before the party….ahh, it’s nice having smaller glasses!
Got home that evening and had fun taking toys out of boxes (I hate those little twist-ties that hold the toys in the boxes…there are so many!) and even had to put some together (like the GeoTrax train system Crystal got him).

Come Sunday, ‘K’s still having a blast with his toys…albeit yelling at ‘G’ that they’re his! Crystal and her husband decided to leave a day early. They bought a bed for their boy and ‘J’ was taking it up to their house in a small U-Haul trailer. We all decided to go. We stayed the night up there and were going to come back Monday evening…but ‘J’ and Crystal’s hubby had to make a dump run….and little did they know, the dump closed by the time they were ready to leave. Since the U-Haul was already loaded up with the stuff for the dump, we stayed another night so ‘J’ could make the run in the morning.
So ‘G’ missed 2 days of school this week and we got to visit a day longer. Rented Meet The Fockers Monday night….that was hilarious!
We left Tuesday afternoon, made a stop in Reno to eat a late lunch, and got home just after 5pm. Of course, the apartment was a mess, since we left in kind of a hurry on Sunday and I didn’t have a chance to clean up. ‘K’ went back to playing with all his new toys while I picked up and then sat down to relax.

Told ya I’ve been busy! It’s been fun, though. Now it’s back to normal for a while. And since I’ve got tons of things to catch up on, normal’s not so bad. :)

Beltane Meditation

I know I haven’t been posting here very often. It’s been really hard to get any time to do any rituals and meditations since my 3 year old has been so clingly lately. I missed doing a full moon ritual last weekend (I don’t even know why now…think it was a mixture of being too tired and my little munchkin only wanting to fall asleep and sleep near me.) So I also missed doing a Beltane ritual. It will be so nice when we can move out of this tiny apartment and I can have my own space for ritual work.

So anyway, as my munchkin was sleeping on the living floor, I really couldn’t perform a ritual Friday or Saturday night. I was planning on doing it Friday night/Saturday morning since Saturday was going to be a busy day (birthday party) and I wasn’t too sure what was going on Saturday night. But alas, things didn’t work out.
So I grabbed up my diskman early Saturday morning (or was it Sunday morning…I can’t remember), put on some spring-like music couresty of Enya and did a celebration of spring meditation. It’s not the same as a ritual and I would have liked to perform a ritual…but oh well…there’s always next time.
