Fair Time!
Oy, we’ve been busy lately. Not neccessarily doing anything, just running around a lot. ‘G’ spent the past 3 weeks down in our hometown of Grass Valley switching off visits with both sets of grandparents. He had summer school prior to that (not because he’s failing…he’s not…but because he needed to catch up on math since we had moved and he switched school’s in Feb.), so we wanted to make sure he got some time with the grandparents before school starts again in a couple weeks. ‘J’ had picked him up on Thursday, since his aunt and uncle (my siblings) start school next week. That same day, my sis-in-law and I decided to take the boys to the fair in Quincy, since it was kids day. We met ‘J’ and ‘G’ there. My sis-in-law and I took the two little boys to the kiddie rides and ‘J’ took ‘G’ on the big ones. It was nice father/son time for them.
We all had a pretty good time, though the two little ones got upset that they couldn’t go on the bigger rides. To 4 year olds we probably sounded pretty hypocritical telling them that they’re big boys all these months with potty training and what-not, and then at the fair telling them they’re not yet big enough for the bigger rides. Ah well, such is life.
