Mother’s Day is fast approaching…and if anyone is like me, you haven’t gotten your mommy anything for that special day just yet.

Well, it just so happenes that I’ve been creating an online shop the past couple of days…featuring my 3D digital artwork. And I just created a new design specifically for Mother’s Day! There are lots of products to choose from - t-shirts, buttons, magnets, mugs…and much more!

So if you’ve come to like my art, check out my little shop. I’m feauring Mother’s Day items, but I do have a few other designs that I’ve got up…so why not have a look! As an added incentive, there’s a coupon code listed near the top of the main page…don’t forget to use it at checkout!

Profile Jewels…Their Theft Of Graphics

We all like to use the profile services that many people now offer. And why not? They make quick work of adding codes to our profiles or to our friends profiles. But how many of these “helping hands” sites are stealing the graphics they use? I’m not sure of that answer, but I do know of one site that does just that…Profile Jewels. It’s a pretty popular site, so I’ve bet many of you have heard of it, if not even used it (like I use to).

I came across that site sometime at the end of last year and had used some of their coding in some of my friends comment sections. Then in January, I happened upon some of my own tags. Well, of course I was flattered for someone to like my work in such a way as to offer it from their site! I kept looking through the site and lo and behold, my tags are everywhere! This person not only liked my tags, it seems, but loved them…I found a devoted fan! All told, there are 71 of my tags on Profile Jewels.

Well, on my own site, I have a Terms Of Use section that states my graphics are not to be distributed by other people. And what the owner of Profile Jewels, Valerie, is clearly doing is against my terms. If I would have found only a couple tags I would have passed right through without a care. But considering the amount she has on that site, I figured a link back to me wouldn’t be too much to ask. Apparently, it was.

I contacted Valerie (aka Shadow Wraith) about mid-January about getting a link back to my site on Profile Jewels. I even mentioned I would link back to her site…I have no problem with helping others get traffic. Apparently, she didn’t like the competition, because she pretty much snubbed me from the start. She seemed interested in me until she found out I was not the original artist of the art I used to make my tags. Once she knew I couldn’t sue her for use of my work, all bets were off and it took her forever to answer any of my messages to her. She even resorted to name-calling at one point! And all I ever asked for was a simple link…or if she didn’t want to link me, then the removal of my tags from her site. Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so…not with how many tags of mine she has on her site, and going against my original terms of using those tags.

So now it’s been about 2 months and she’s resorted to ignoring every message I send her. I know she hasn’t blocked me, yet, as my messages do get read. I had even contacted her co-owner of Profile Jewels. He said he’d talk to her about it and get back to me. No such luck there, either. He never got back to me and my last message to him is still unread, so I’m guessing I’ve been blocked. Last I looked on the site, he’s no longer a co-owner. So either she’s hiding him so no one else can complain about her theiving of graphics, or he’s no longer co-owner.

Because of all this, I’ve been boycotting Profile Jewels. I did like getting graphics from there, but I will not condone the theft of my graphics or anyone else’s. Who knows how many other graphics on that site are stolen? Who knows how many other people Valerie has snubbed and called names. I ask everyone who reads this to please do the same. Do not use any codes from that site, as you’d be condoning theft of other’s hard work.

———————————————————————————

On a better note, I have decided to add codes to my site for people to use my tags on their profiles. Go to RavenMoon Designs, click on Link Ware in the bottom left corner. Then go to the Graphics menu, mouse over Sig Tags, and click Codes. You’ll find a menu for different sections of tags. All I ask is to leave the whole code (including the link) intact when you post the tags.

Let’s hope that no other site has as bad netiquette as Valerie has and would actually link to the people whose graphics they use.

Spirits of the Sierras - new group

I have been getting behind on my posting…I know. And my sig tag making, too. I apologize to those who still need tags made.

I have been spending a lot of my time making a web site for a group some friends and I started…a ghost hunting group. We’re all interested in the paranormal and one member has a sister who does ghost hunting in the southern US. So, we decided to start our own group for here in the sierras of northern California. We’re looking for those who share this interest in the region to join us. Have a look at our site here: http://spiritsofthesierras.ravenmoondesigns.com/.

Stuff…

Well, I logged on to delete some comment spam…so I figured I may as well post while I’m here.

Let’s see…we’ve pretty much been snowed in…lol. We have close to 3 feet of snow…it’s so cool! I didn’t take Cheyenne for a walk yesterday, so she was aching to go today…whining and barking to go out. So I dressed warm and out we went. There’s forest all around us, so we walked down the road a bit, then veered off into the woods, following the snowmobile trails (had to, the trails are packed down…the snow is too deep to walk through without snowpants on). It was snowing…and the forest was quiet…it was so peaceful. I love it up here!

I’ve been working on a few signature tags using Poser that I have for purchase on my site. I’ll be getting more up soon. Have a look here: http://purchaseware.ravenmoondesigns.com/sigtags.htm.

Other than that, I’ve been getting back into playing EverQuest. I took quite a long break from it…a few months…and I’ve justed gotten interested in it again…lol.

Speeding By

Ok, so the month is going by faster than I thought it would. It shows in exactly how much I have posted this month…not a whole lot. A lot of things are going on…looking forward to getting our taxes back and moving are two big things. We have been waiting for word on a house rental in the area we want to move, and we finally got it yesterday…and it wasn’t good news. I was told our references were excellent, but since we couldn’t actually pay and move in til mid-February, the owner rented it out to someone else who could pay now. Ugh. It was a nice house, too…and I had gotten my hopes up about it. Oh well. We’ll just have to wait to look until a bit closer to actually having the money to move. Money just happens to be a big factor when relocating.

I’ve also been doing a bit of catching up with sig tag requests…and I have so many to fill. And on top of that, I’ve been re-designing my business and graphics sites. Since I have Poser, I can now create things (web sets, sig tags, ect.) and sell them. So I made a purchase ware web site…which hasn’t got any content on it yet. And I decided to go ahead and re-design my link ware site and my services site (which I’ll be working on today). Have a look…http://www.ravenmoondesigns.com/. Maybe pick up a few graphics while you there. :)

Celtic Winter Look

Well, now that fall is pretty much over with, I decided to change the fall theme of my blog to a winter one. I now have a Celtic winter faerie look. I have always loved the artwork of the seasonal faeries (like I use in the layout)…and the winter faerie makes a perfect wintery change. :)

Been Shopping!

Wow, I’m doing bad at keeping up on this this month. Only one post (now two) in all of October. What have a I been doing? Let’s see…making Halloween sig tags and filling those requests (samples below), searching at Amazon.com for books….of which 7 of the 10 I ordered arrived yesterday…woohoo!! I’m hoping the other 3 arrive today sometime before we leave to visit my sister-in-law for the week. The books I ordered are God Against The Gods (currently reading, so far very interesting), The Gnostic Gospels, The Mist-Filled Path, The Druids, The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, & Brews, Magical Aromatherapy, Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Wicca in the Kitchen, The Celtic Spirit: Daily Meditations for the Turning Year, The Religion of the Ancient Celts, and The Case for Christ (because it was recommended by a “caring” Christian :D ).
I also recently ordered a set of wooden runes from a guy in England. His site is awesome, briefly explaining the history of runes and he makes a bunch of runic items. You can find his website here: http://www.runemaker.com/runemaker.shtml, and the rune set I ordered here: http://www.runemaker.com/wares/miniset.shtml. This will be my first rune set. I’m so excited! :D
One other thing I ordered was a Halloween costume for ‘K’. He’s gonna be Buzz Lightyear this year! He’s really excited and can’t wait to get his costume! I was lucky to find that The Disney Store online was having a sale and there were still costumes left in stock.

So anyway, that’s what I’ve been doing for the past week….shopping! Something I rarely get to do….LOL! And tomorrow afternoon we are leaving for Susanville to visit my sis-in-law for a week…well the boys and I, anyway. ‘J’ is coming back down this weekend since he has to work during the week. It’s fall break for ‘G’, so we figured we’d get out of town for the week. :)

And now… a couple of my recent Halloween tags……

New Obsession

Yikes, it’s been a little while since I posted! Well, there’s a reason for that…kind of an obsession really. ‘J’ has been wanting to try the online computer game, EverQuest for a while now. Well, he didn’t get anything on his birthday last month since we had no money, so a week ago we went down to CompUSA and found EverQuest II, the deluxe DVD edition. So we bought it. :) As I watched him make up his character, I became interested in it. So I made up a character and have been playing ever since. I guess you could say I got hooked! I have never really been into playing computer games (but was an avid console game player before we got the computer). My character’s pretty cool, if I do say so myself….a Wood Elf Scout/Rouge.

my EQII character

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. I have also made a few new siggie tags and keepin’ busy filling requests.

New Look and Merge

I’ve been wanting to give my blog a new look for a while now. I got down to business today and created the graphics for it and I’m getting everything changed around. I decided to go with an autumnish theme since it’s just around the corner. I’m also merging this blog with my Blog of Shadows - my Pagan blog - because I don’t really update the other all that often. So all topics will be covered here now…general news, family stuff, Pagan stuff…all on one site. :) I’ll be adding all my past posts from the other blog as well…though I’m not sure if I can add the comments.
Let me know what you think!

Doctor Visit and Graphics Update

Well, I had a doctor’s appointment on Friday about my cyst. Seems that it’s still there. But it doesn’t hurt, so they’re just going to leave it alone for now. The doctor told me that if it hurts at all I need to call and they will schedual an ultrasound to check on it.

I updated my graphics site yesterday…added a few new sig tags and matching stationery. Check it out here: http://graphics.ravenmoondesigns.com/. Below is one of my newer tags you can only get by being a part of my tag group. It’ll be added to my site at a later time.
